Prioritize your recovery by following your dentist’s or surgeon’s post-op instructions to avoid infection or trauma.
Bleeding After a Tooth Extraction
Some bleeding is normal for up to 24 hours. Bite firmly on provided gauze for an hour, remove it gently, and moisten if stuck. Using a moist black tea bag can help with clotting.
Swelling
Swelling and stiffness may last 7–10 days. Keep your head elevated and use ice packs for the first day. Bruising may occur, especially after lower wisdom tooth removal. Contact us if swelling persists beyond 10 days or if you have concerns.
Pain and Medications
Pain levels differ; take all prescribed medications as directed and check before adding over-the- counter drugs. Finish all antibiotics to prevent infection.
Rest and Recovery
Rest for at least two days, avoid physical activity for 2–3 days, and expect to resume normal activities within 48 hours.
